Would you like your dog to continue training while you are on holiday?

Taking a break is so important, and sometimes it isn’t convenient to take our furry friends with us. Also, it’s sometimes necessary for a dog to continue his training during the time you are away. Mental and physical activity are so important for the dog, not just because education requires constant exercise, but it’s also necessary to keep your dog’s brain healthy.

In my experience, it’s so important to customise training and exercise to each individual dog. That means the need to consider the breed, the age and character of the dog; its environment and relationship with its owner; whether the dog is in training or not; whether there are any physical problems, and also what the dog likes to do.

Here are three different situations:

3 Cocker Spaniels. They are working dogs, and are in training. I am continuing their training while the owner is on holiday.

English Bulldog. This is a six month old puppy. I am continuing his training while the owner is away. You can see the “stay” base command in this video. I started to train Harris when he was 14 weeks old.

French Bulldog. She is playing a problem-solving game. It’s summer and it’s really warm. I don’t walk with the dog during lunch time, when the temperature is high, especially if I am looking after a brachycephalic breed.

All the Best,
